Hi, I’m Sarah, founder of Best Surf Destinations.
I started this site back in 2017 while living in Taghazout, Morocco, working as a host at a local surf camp and spending every spare moment in the ocean.
What began as a hobby quickly grew into something bigger.
Today, Best Surf Destinations is a fully independent surf travel agency with a team of over 15 people, dedicated to creating bespoke surf camp packages designed specifically for beginner surfers.
Created by a surfer, for future surfers.
At Best Surf Destinations, we design and build surf camp experiences around the world, from the ground up.
We partner with trusted located and then carefully curate a beginner-friendly experience we know works. That means sitting down with the coaches to map out the surf curriculum, working with in-house chefs to build nourishing menus, and planning out your itinerary day by day, so all you have to do is show up, surf, and enjoy.
We believe surfing should be accessible to everyone, so we offer packages across all budgets, from laid-back hostels to private villas with ocean views. Whether you’re traveling solo or with friends, on a tight budget or treating yourself to something luxe, we’ve got a surf camp that fits.
So far, we’ve launched camps in Portugal, Morocco, Bali, Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, and Hawaii, with many more destinations in the pipeline. Our team is always on the lookout for new waves, new hosts, and new locations where we can create something special for beginner surfers.
And because this all started as a blog, we still honour our roots by writing surf travel guides as we go, sharing honest insights and local tips to help you plan the surf trip of a lifetime.
