Surfing in Ireland

Surfing Ireland
Ireland is home to some of the best and most uncrowded surf spots in the world. The main surf season in Ireland runs from September to May when the Atlantic Ocean gives plenty of powerful cool water swells. The only actual downside to the Ireland surfing experience is the cold water, however, if you are prepared to brave the cold you are in for a real reward. Make sure you get yourself a suitable wetsuit, some booties, wetsuit gloves, and a wetsuit hood before you go. Surfing here can be hardcore, with some seriously cold water. And, if you are into big wave surfing, check out Aileens and Prowlers as they are known to throw out 20ft+ waves in the peak of the season – just make sure you prepare yourself for some large hold-downs.
