Bali COVID-19 Travel Update: Currently, all non-Indonesian travellers are prohibited from entering Bali, although there are exceptions to this ban – including for those with KITAS/KITAP. On March 26 2021, the Indonesian government officially announced the reopening of some “green areas” in Bali where travelers will be allowed to visit and stay. This reopening is set for July 2021.
The Slow is a multifaceted island stay incorporating boutique accommodation, all-day dining, drinks, art, local culture, and interactive retail, all set on the coast of Canggu, Bali.
A stay at The Slow is an immersive experience. The eclectic space gravitates around a personal art collection, with sound by LA’s Reverberation Radio. It’s a place to rest your bones, stir your senses, and expand your mind.
The Slow is located in the heart of Canggu, 300 meters from Batu Bolong surf spot (Old Man’s).
The 12 suites of The Slow aim to redefine the parameters of boutique island luxe. With an acute sensitivity to textures and an irreverence for tradition, both the Pool Suite and The Grand Suite embody the aesthetic of tropical brutalism for which The Slow has become renowned.
The magnitude of void space and industrial elements is softened by indoor greenery and rays of sunlight on cotton curtains. Local artisan-produced furniture and crafts juxtapose audacious art and modernist bathroom facilities.
Cast your glance to Canggu Beach or your private plunge pool, and enjoy a drink by Mr. Sid.
The Slow Kitchen redefines island dining with atmospheric and sensory distinction. Under the guidance of a team of local and international chefs with limitless artistry and passion, visitors are treated to an internationally inspired menu that has become a culinary icon of Bali. Blended with Indonesian exoticism, bold flavours and unparalleled sophistication, the emphasis is always on seasonality, sustainability and sane eating.
The light and airy restaurant, under a high-line of botanical chandeliers, is a magnetic meeting spot with friendly service and a bohemian sensibility. A laid-back and intimate dining experience through the afternoon and evening, the menu focuses on impeccable, seasonal produce, with Holmgren creating dishes that marry bold flavours with beautiful presentation. The use of techniques such as curing, fermenting, pickling and smoking showcase the chef’s passion for nature, turning traditional methods into innovative cooking.
The inventive drinks selection, inspired by mythology and history and designed by London bartender Maya Jaworska, highlights specialty batch spirits, extractions, and tonics, with all cocktails pre-batched in-house. Revitalisation comes in the form of freshly made infusions, blends and tonics featuring ingredients like hibiscus, lemon leaf and moringa.
A carefully selected wine list presents small growers, regional styles, and quaint vintage wines, encouraging guests to try some of the best old and new world wine the island has to offer. A small collection of local craft beer completes the thirst-quenching offerings. The restaurant connects to Room 13, The Slow’s gallery space, which features a barista station and rotating art collection.
